If you know the name Logan Swanson, it is probably because you have heard it over the loud speaker at Kirby-Over stadium as Logan has anchored the Augustana Vikings defensive front over the years.  But rather than leading his defense against opposing offenses, Swanson is now partnering with Volunteers of America to lead the charge against the growing concern of homeless youth in Sioux Falls.  Statistics show that the nearly 40% of the homeless population in America is comprised of individuals under 18 years old; and more than half of those cases are situations where parents “told them to leave” or “knew they were leaving” and didn’t intervene to stop them.

With support from the Augustana Football Team, Wrestling Team, and Volunteers of America (Dakotas) Homeless Youth Shelter Logan is raising money and taking donations to assemble care packages for these young people in our community.  Items can be dropped off at the front desk of the Elmen Center on the Augustana University campus or a monetary donation can be made through a GoFundMe page setup for the event (link).  You can also join Logan and his partners for an event on February 1st at Embrace Church where the packages will be distributed.

Your donations are appreciated and your help spreading the word about this awesome event are invaluable!  Let’s help Logan Swanson continue to bring “Good News” to Sioux Falls!
