Tasty Tuesday – Top 5 BBQ Spots in Sioux Falls

Spring is the perfect time to pull out the ol’ BBQ grill, knock off any winter time rust, clean off the grates, and cook up some burgers, brats, steaks, or ribs!  However, many of us while we do our very best(!) can’t seem to match up to the level of BBQ perfection as the professionals!

So If you have a hankering for amazing ribs, brisket, pulled pork, sauces, sides, and messy hands, forearms, and elbows – Here is a list of the Top 5 places (restaurants, caterers, food trucks, and more) In no particular order, to scratch your BBQ itch in Sioux Falls.

  • Mississippi Smoke BBQ – mississippismoke.com – hands down the best brisket and the most succulent ribs I have had… anywhere in Sioux Falls.  Mississippi Smoke is just a husband and wife catering team, but the meat and sides they brought to our event were incredible!  You cannot get better smoked, grilled, fixed up right, BBQ and soul food sides than what they brought!
  • Backyard BBQ – If you’re looking for a place to sit down and enjoy your BBQ restaurant style, Backyard BBQ is the way to go!  Tons of choices, great sides, decent price, and awesome sauce make it a perfect place to stop for Lunch or Dinner!
  • Uncle Ed’s – My favorite way to do Uncle Ed’s is with their take home vacuum sealed packs.  They smoke up amazing entrees, then seal them up, freeze them, and sell them grocery store style.  I leave a few in the freezer at home, so whenever I’m looking for some great BBQ, I don’t have to get in the car, or fire up the grill, just toss that frozen packet in some boiling water and you’ve got succulent smoked meats of all kinds!  Uncle Ed’s also caters.
  • Famous Dave’s – I love Famous Dave’s!  They are my old reliable BBQ choice, that I make sure to check in on every once and while!  The atmosphere is “down home” and lively all at the same time.  When the meat is done right, it cannot be beat, and the servings sizes and prices are right on track with my type of lifestyle!  You can’t go wrong with a trip to Famous Dave’s.
  • Berkes BBQ – I stumbled onto Berkes completely on accident.  I was looking for a great local lunch and low and behold there it was, a beautiful food truck, serving BBQ right in the Tractor Supply Co. parking lot!  Pulled Pork and Brisket (because, why just try one) were both outstanding!  And let me just say… more BBQ places need to go with the cubed and fried potatoes, nice change of pace and delicious!
