March 1st, 1882 – On This Day in Sioux Falls History, the first official meeting of the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church occurred.  The church had formed a few days prior, but set this date to elect officers and to appoint deacons and trustees. They would go on to erect a building on the southeast corner of 6th St. and Spring Ave. which is a residential neighborhood now, just a block west of Minnesota and 6th.
